Maria Widmer

Curriculum Consultant

Maria Widmer is a Discussion Project Instructor, Deliberation Dinners Presenter and Coach, and Curriculum Consultant.

With a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the UW-Madison School of Education, Maria’s research and practice are focused on student development, teaching and learning, and innovation in higher education. Additionally, Maria holds a Master of Education in Learning, Design, and Technology from Penn State University. Maria uses a collaborative approach to working with instructors and campus partners to advance teaching excellence, learner engagement, and student well-being.

In addition to her instructional design work, Maria has a strong background in teaching. She has served as the instructor for first-year seminars, large enrollment undergraduate classes, graduate-level courses, and community literacy programs.
